Patch Management
The systematic process of identifying, acquiring, testing, and installing software updates (patches) to fix security vulnerabilities and bugs.
Patch management is the process of keeping all software — operating systems, applications, firmware — up to date with the latest security fixes. Unpatched systems are the most common entry point for cyberattacks. When MyCERT publishes urgent advisories about critical vulnerabilities, patching immediately is the single most effective response.
